Mr. Henry Butterworth III has over 42 years of commercial nuclear power experience. He has previously held senior leadership positions in Operations, Training and Corporate at Tennessee Valley Authority, South Texas Project, and Southern Nuclear Company prior to joining Xcel Energy in 2005. Mr. Butterworth is General Manager on rotation to the Nuclear Services group in the corporate office. He currently is project lead for Xcel Energy and their support of the Carbon Free Power Project focused on developing the long-term operating model for the project. Prior to that he was in the Nuclear Strategy Group and responsible for developing the Integrated Operations Model for nuclear and providing direction and oversight over the transformation of Operate the Plant function for the fleet. Prior to his current role he has been the Director of Business Support and Nuclear Oversight Manager at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant, and Director Corporate Functional Area Management and Director Performance Improvement for the Xcel Energy Nuclear Fleet.
He has received a Senior Reactor Operators Licenses (SRO) at three commercial nuclear stations, earned a Nuclear Engineering degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Professional Engineering License in Georgia.
Mr. Pete Kissinger has worked in the nuclear power industry for 40+ years. Following college, he worked for the General Electric company in the startup and testing of new nuclear facilities and then joined Xcel Energy and has worked at the Monticello and Prairie Island nuclear plants as well as the fleet corporate organization in leadership roles including Operations, Engineering, Training, Regulatory Affairs, Work & Outage Management, and Leadership Oversight. He also recently completed a loaned employee rotation with the Nuclear Energy Institute. He held an active SRO license on the Monticello plant for 14 years. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Nuclear Engineering and maintains a professional engineer license in the state of Minnesota.
Mr. Kissinger brings an Operational perspective to the CFPP. He is working with the CFPP team on NRC license applications as well as the needed programs, processes, staffing, and procedures to operate the facility.
